A high cholesterol content can lead to the slow narrowing of the arteries in the area of the coronary vessels. At the end of this arteriosclerosis is the heart attack. Red wine keeps the blood thin and thus prevents blood clots.
According to research results, French wines have a significantly higher proportion of heart-protecting plant compounds such as flavonoids, polyphenols or phytoalexins such as resveratrol than German grape varieties.
